Writeny covers one subject properly: how car insurance is priced, sold and paid out in the United States. We are not owned by a carrier, a broker or a comparison site, and we do not take placement fees for mentioning a company.

How we work

Every article starts from a primary source — a policy form, a state rate filing, a regulation, or an interview with someone who works inside the process. Where we give numbers, we show the arithmetic so you can substitute your own.

We publish corrections openly and date them. If something here is wrong, tell us and we will fix it and say that we did.
